Brushing twice a day, flossing before bed, and seeing your dentist for your regular cleanings and exams are the best ways to make sure that your teeth stay healthy. And of course, we all know that it is essential to limit, or avoid sugary drinks and foods.

Diet is a big part of dental health. Sticky foods, including dried fruit and trail mix cling to your teeth for a long time, and can lead to cavities if you don’t brush. Tomatoes and citrus fruits contain acids, which can damage the enamel on your teeth. Potato chips contain starch, which can contribute to the level of sugar in your mouth. If you enjoy a sticky or starchy meal or snack, make sure to brush afterward. If you enjoy coffee or tea, try doing so without the sugar.
Hard cheese scrubs the surface of your teeth, and it contains calcium and protein, which are good for the strength of your teeth. Yogurt also has calcium, along with probiotics that will contribute to a healthy mouth.

Leafy green vegetables are high in vitamins and minerals, including calcium and vitamin B. Apples, celery and carrots contain fiber and because of their texture, they will stimulate the production of saliva in your mouth, which helps to wash the acids from your teeth.
